Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

Verbault ("we", "our", or "us") operates verbault.com, a literary dictionary and reading tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account using Google Sign-In, we receive your email address and display name from Google. We store these in our database to identify your account and display your name next to comments and vocabulary lists you create.

As you use Verbault, we record your reading activity — such as which books or articles you have opened in the Reader — so that features like "My Docs" and reading history work correctly. You can also create named vocabulary lists and save bookmarks to sentences; that data is stored against your account in our database.

We do not collect payment card information. We do not collect your physical address or phone number.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage to hold your authentication session token (issued by Supabase after you sign in) and your chosen display theme (light or dark). These are not transmitted to third-party advertisers. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out and reset your theme preference.

Google AdSense, our advertising partner, may set its own cookies in your browser. These are described in detail in section 4 below.

3. Third-Party Services

4. Google AdSense and Advertising Cookies

Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites on the web. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to verbault.com and other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out through the Digital Advertising Alliance. Even if you opt out, you may still see non-personalised ads on Verbault.

For more information about how Google uses data from sites that use its advertising products, see policies.google.com/technologies/ads.

5. Comments

When you post a comment on a blog post, your display name and the text of your comment are stored in our database and displayed publicly alongside the post. Do not include personal information in comments that you would not want to be publicly visible. Comments can be removed by contacting us at the address below.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you would like us to delete your account and all associated data — including reading history, vocabulary lists, bookmarks, and comments — please email us at genuinescript@gmail.com with the subject line "Account deletion request". We will process requests within 30 days.

7. Children's Privacy

Verbault is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Contact

If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at genuinescript@gmail.com.
