From New Latin, from Late Latin gonorrhoea, from Ancient Greek γονόρροια (gonórrhoia), from γόνος (gónos, “sperm, seed, offspring”) + ῥοία (rhoía, “flow”) (ca. 1526). By surface analysis, gono- + -rrhea.
